Josephine Huffhines' Obituary
HUFFHINES, JOSEPHINE KLUTTS born April 11, 1916 in Rockwall County, Texas to Sam and Emma Klutts and died April 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Huffhines of 36 years. She was a long time citizen of Richardson and together she and Clifford accomplished many civic and community programs for Richardson as it grew from a small farming community into the city it is today. “Jo” as most friends knew her, was a member of First Baptist Church of Richardson where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of The Richardson Woman’s Club, and a member of Eastern Star and The Blue Bonnet Club. She graduated from North Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and a Texas Teaching Certificate. She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables in her garden. When she was in her sixties, she turned to painting her flowers on canvas. She became an accomplished artist in both oils and water colors. She and Clifford enjoyed traveling together and had visited all 48 states. While travelling, Jo would take pictures that she would later use in her painting. They had no children of their own but were often the encourager to young families and/or individuals in reaching their goals. Jo will be missed by her nieces and nephews and her many, many friends. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, January 21, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
