Josephine Wetmore Meeks, 97, of Richardson, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in Richardson, Texas of natural causes. She was born on Tuesday, May 16, 1922, to her loving and thoughtful parents, Herbert Carryl and Pauline Wetmore in Key West, Florida. She married Charles Edward Meeks on April 5, 1942 in Miami, Florida. She was a kindergarten teacher for 40 years in Miami, Florida and Richardson, Texas. She was a member of Eastern Star and Silver Star Mother in the Salvation Army.Josephine was preceded in death by her son, William Charles Meeks. She is survived by her daughter Doreen Carryl Meeks-Hewes, her grandsons, Jonathan Allen Meeks, David Elliot Meeks, Daniel Vincent Meeks, and Winston Charles Hewes, great grandchildren, Anna Meeks, Dakota Meeks, Kathelynne Meeks, Christian Meeks and Isabella Meeks.The visitation for Josephine will be held at Restland Funeral Home Monday, August 19, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service for Josephine will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church located at 3901 North Star Road, Richardson, Texas 75082
