To the Family of Ms. Jo Roberts —
I was in Ms. Roberts’ Latin Class at RHS for three years from Fall 1971 through graduation in May 1974. Through abject personal neglect (and no fault of hers), I ultimately learned very little Latin, but Ms. Roberts always found a way to keep me engaged and above water. Most importantly, she instilled in me a life-long love of ancient history, Roman in particular. As I sit here today 50 years later reading a detailed study of Trajan’s Forum in Rome (fOrum, as she pronounced it), I am once again reminded of her and the constant, loving guidance she afforded me so many years ago. I only wish that I had taken the opportunity in the intervening years to tell her how grateful I am for all she did for me. She was one in a million. RIP Ms. Roberts!
