Josephine E. Rogers' Obituary
Josephine Hodges Rogers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and great grandmother, was born August 11, 1921 in Peking, China, while her father, Dr. Paul C. Hodges, was working at the Peking Union Medical College. She passed away September 26, 2014 in Dallas, Texas surrounded by loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Phil H. Rogers and her youngest son, Phil H. Rogers Jr. She is survived by children, Rhea and husband, Dave, Hugh and wife, Joyce, JoAnn and husband, Lowell and daughter in-law, Judy. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Josephine graduated with a B.S. in Math from The University of Chicago. During World War II she enlisted in the Navy where she taught Radar School. While serving in the Navy she met her future husband and love of her life. She provided a warm and loving home while raising her 4 children. As her youngest children were in high school she earned a Masters in Computer Science from SMU. Her loving presence, keen intelligence, delightful sense of humor, and the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes, will be dearly missed by family and friends. The funeral service for Josephine Rogers will take place at 12:30 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with graveside services in Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Cornerstone Christian Church, 2700 Christian Parkway, Dallas, TX 75234. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238
