Joshua Joshua Ekpo's Obituary
JOSHUA Joshua Ekpo (fondly known as Kokoette) was born on October 21't 1952 to Chief J. U Ekpo and Mrs Akon Ekpo of Mbiokporo 2 in Nsit lbom L.G.A. of Akwa Worn State in Nigeria. Je attended several Primary Schools as he moved around with his father who was an educator. After Elementary School Joshua attended St. Patricks College, Calabar, Cross River State in Nigeria. He finished both Primary and Secondary Schools in 10 years instead of 13 years that others took. This means that he was skipped three grades above his classmates. He was one of twenty five children that his father had and the youngest son of the twelve children that his mother had. Joshua was the most brilliant of all the 25 children. After Secondary Education he worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria In Lagos, Nigeria.
From Lagos, Je proceeded to the United States to further his education. With the help of his elder brother Onofiok Ekpo, he went to West Virginia where he attended West Virginia State College at institute, West Virginia to study Pre Engineering. From there he transferred to West Virginia Institute of Technology where he graduated in Chemical Engineering He worked for several Chemical companies e.g. Brown and Roots, AK 20 movest, Medovian, etc.
He met and married Patricia Sutton, August 20, 1977 and the marriage lasted for 8 years. In 2000 he met and married Ms. Ekaette lkotidem the union lasted till 2007. He is blessed with 2 children Dr. Akon Elizabeth Ekpo and Ofonimeh Ekpo.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters including Her Excellency Ambassador Mandu Ekpo Omagbemi.
Joshua is survived by 2 daughters, Akon E. Ekpo and Miss Ofonimeh Ekpo , sister Anie Ekpo, Cousin Pastor Akpan J. Esenyie, Nieces Uduak Ekpo Blessing Ekpo, Ntiense Ekpo Iniobong Ekpo. Edkan Ekpo and a host of relations and friends to mourn his death.
Joshua was baptized in the Methodist Church as an infant and later continued in his faith. He belonged to many Christian Communities and lastly was a member of the Christ Touch Ministries in Arlington Texas.
