Jovanni Raphael Lopez, age 18, a resident of Dallas, Texas, passed away on April 27, 2026. He was born on May 27, 2007, in Garland, Texas, to his loving mother, Angelique Crispina DeLourdes, who devotedly raised him along with his stepfather, Jonathan Muniz.
He was affectionately known as “Jojo,” a nickname used by all who knew and loved him. He graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas in 2025.
Jojo had a passion for motorcycles and dirt biking, often enjoying rides with his friends, and he also liked spending time playing on his PS5. He was known for his signature style of wearing black and took pride in being neat, well put together, and keeping a very clean space. He loved going to the barbershop and shared a meaningful spiritual bond with his barber.
He had a deep love for home-cooked Mexican food and, since childhood, cherished Lightning McQueen from Cars, a joy he carried with him throughout his life. He also held a strong devotion to Saint Jude and Our Lady of Guadalupe, often lighting candles in their honor.
Above all, Jojo cared deeply for his siblings, always looking out for them and putting others before himself. He was protective of those he loved and will be remembered for his selflessness, his warmth, and the care he showed to everyone around him.
He is survived by his three sisters, Brisa Lopez of Dallas, Elena Miranda of Dallas, and Abriana Miranda of Dallas; his brother, Josiah Muniz of Dallas; his nephew, Jonah Hernandez of Dallas; his grandmother, Annette DeLourdes of Dallas; his great-grandmother, Crispina DeLourdes of Chicago; his aunt, Monica Castillo of Dallas; and his step-grandfather, Jose Muniz of Dallas.
Services for Jovanni Raphael Lopez will be held at Restland Funeral Home, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Friday, May 8, 2026, a chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Restland Funeral Home’s Memorial Chapel, followed by the graveside ceremony at 3:00 p.m in the Garden of Memories at Restland Memorial Park. A private reception for Jojo's immediate family will follow from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. back at Restland Funeral Home in the main building.
