Jowelene Pritchett's Obituary
Born January 21, 1929 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Lester and Vera Johnson, Jowelene Johnson Pritchett spent her early childhood in Dallas, homesteading in a dirt dugout near Pie Town, NM during the depression and on a family farm in Lubbock before returning to Dallas. She would live the rest of her life in Dallas, other than a brief period in Corpus Christi. She was on the yearbook staff, graduating from Sunset High School in 1946. Jowelene filled her life as a mother and homemaker for her three children and later worked full time in the accounting department for various local businesses. A lover of country music, Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline among her favorites, she was also a voracious reader of British mysteries and novels set in the Southwest. She had a love of the West, its deserts, its plateaus and the vastness of its open space. Jowelene passed away December 12, 2015 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas where she was born.
