GISSLER, Joy Hesla
Joy Hesla Gissler, 71, of Frisco, Texas passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2023 due to complications following knee surgery. Joy has struggled with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Auto Immune Disease for years.
Joy is blessed with an incredible spirit, beautiful soul and deep faith in God that has touched the lives of so many of her family and friends. Her passions were filled with Bible studies, spiritual adventures, time with family, friends and travels to many destinations around the world.
Joy attended Hillcrest High School in Dallas, then the University of Arkansas. She modeled with the Kim Dawson Agency and was a flight attendant with Piedmont and US Airways.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Freida Hesla. She is survived by her husband Jim Gissler, son Josh Jones (Cynthia), stepchildren Bryce Gissler, Brett Gissler (Kelly), grandchildren Payton Gissler, Max Gissler, brother Jeff Hesla (Toni), sister Jennifer Biernacki (Rick) and her adopted grandchildren.
Joy requested a graveside service for family and friends that will be held on November 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in the name of Joy may be made to Shepherd’s Watch Foundation, for which Joy was a very proud advocate.
