Joyce Marie Ellis' Obituary
Joyce Marie Bennett Ellis, age 89, of Edom, Texas, passed away on September 27, 2025, in Seagoville, Texas. She was born to Silas “Sie” Boyer Bennett and Maggie Josephine McAdams Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Mattie Bennett; daughter-in-law, Timi Ellis; siblings Delbert Bennett, Bill Bennett, Helen Fox, Maxine Moore, Ava Cowgill, and Oneta Bennett; and brothers- and sisters-in-law Jean Bennett, Bettye Bennett, Bob Osborn, Eldon Fox, Roger Moore, Jimmy Cowgill, and Stan Shelton.
She is survived by her children, Randy Ellis (Donna), Marshall Ellis, and Nancy Ellis; siblings Gearldine Rhoades (Ed), Charlotte Shelton, and Frieda Puckett; grandchildren Christi Cole, William Ellis (Eva), Tiffany Nabors (Benjamin Indahl), Jeremy Nabors (Anastasiya), and Lycia Clark (Jonathan); and great-grandchildren Sebastian, Annabelle, Hailey, Judah, Aiden, Asher, Theo, Ellie, and Arie. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A proud alumni of Forest Avenue High School, Class of 1953, Joyce worked for Southland Corporation, Furstenberg Construction, and later became a beloved presence at the Town East Mall Information Booth.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A visitation is on schedule for Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home from 1 PM to 2 PM. The service will begin following at 2 PM, same day. Following the committal, everyone is welcomed to the reception at Restland's Event Center, beginning at 3 PM.
