Joyce Ann Hunter's Obituary
On the joyful day of January 29, 1957 in Wylie, Texas, Robert Lee Leaks and Lettie B. Richardson were blessed with a ray of sunshine that warmed their hearts and named her Joyce. Joyce accepted Christ at an early age and was Baptized in 1977 at East Side Church of Christ in Los Angeles, CA. She always remained a person of faith in the Lord and later joined the White Rock Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. Joyce attended Jordan High School in Los Angeles, California. After graduating she studied to be a certified nursing assistant. Joyce departed this life on Sunday, November 22, 215 at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Leaks; grandmother, Georgia Mae Hicks and grandfather, Jack Aimes. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, husband, James Hunter Sr.; mother, Lettie B. Richardson; daughters, Le’Shana Williams (Josephfer Sr.) and Amber Muhammad (Jamal); son, James Hunter Jr.; grandsons, Josepher Jr., Yasir and Tali; granddaughters, London and Jasmine; 10 brothers and sisters, Essie Leaks Pitts (John), Barbara Leaks, Lettie LittleJohn, Rose Kirvin (Jarrod), Georgia Green, Susan Davis (Milton), Dasha Williams (Broderick), Terry Richardson (Carol), Earnest Richardson (Lesha) and Maurice Richardson (Eileen). She also leaves her memories to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. I am free praise the Lord, I’m free: No longer bound-no more chains holding me. My soul is resting, it’s just a blessing. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah- I’m free No more pain! Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 6:00- 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the White Rock Church of Christ.
