Joyce Marie Long's Obituary
Joyce Marie (Sherow) Long went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was born July 15, 1947 in Henderson, Texas and was the tenth child of Wesley and Willie Sherow. Both parents preceded her in death. As a young child, Joyce gave her life to the Lord at Antioch Baptist Church in Henderson, Texas and continued to be a devoted servant of the Lord throughout her life. She later joined the Covenant Church of Carrollton, Texas where she served as a greeter for many years. As a result of her strong Christian beliefs she supported financially numerous ministries and charities. Joyce graduated from Henderson High School and later moved to Dallas, Texas where she attended Bishop College. During her time at Bishop she studied Business and became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. For the majority of her professional career Joyce worked within the data processing and customer serviced field of business. She retired from her long outstanding career with Bank of America in 2015. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her son, Paul B. Long (Tesa), of Wylie, Texas and grandson, Paul Kennedy Long of Wylie, Texas. Along with sisters, Dorothy Jones (Ozo) of Garland, Texas, Rosie Reed of Garland, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 6 PM- 8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11 AM at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
