Joyce Marie Noble's Obituary
Joyce Marie Noble (née Lucas), age 94, of Plano, Texas, passed away on December 19, 2024. She was born on September 28, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas, to Henry Adam and Lillian Marie Lucas, and graduated from Harlandale High School.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Thomas Noble, who passed in 1997. The two first met as teenagers at a drive-in restaurant, where Joyce and her girlfriends found themselves parked next to Robert and his friends. That chance encounter led to a lifelong partnership, and they married on March 3, 1951. Together, they raised three children: Janet Lynn Noble, Sandra Gay Noble, and the late Robert Scott Noble.
Joyce was a grandmother to Meredyth Ashley Hale (Nicholas), Amanda Christine Barrington, Rachel Simone Noble, Amy Michelle Gosnell (Jason), and Cynthia Dianne Murphy (Timothy); and a great-grandmother to Sarah Ashley Hale, Benjamin Clark Hale, Matthew Allen Hale, Alexander Noble, and Garrett Griffin Gosnell. She is survived by her sister, Annette Carolyn Hall (Edward).
Joyce called Plano, Texas, home for the nearly 40 years and cherished the friendships she built with her neighbors. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and was known for walking her dog multiple blocks a day until her early 90s, when her health no longer allowed it.
Joyce worked for several years as a bank employee before retiring. In their retirement, she and Robert enjoyed traveling and spent many happy days on the golf course with their closest friends, the O’Hara’s – a couple who met alongside them at the drive-in, decades earlier – an enduring friendship that became a cherished part of their lives.
Beloved by her family, friends, and neighbors for her quick wit, independence, and tenacious spirit, Joyce will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
A visitation and graveside service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2024, in the Court of Faith at Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by the service at noon. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Joyce’s life and legacy.
Joyce will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
