Joyce Charlene Seago's Obituary
Joyce Charlene Doyle Thompson Seago, 90, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Garland, TX. Born on July 11, 1934, in Sherman, TX. The family moved to Dallas, TX where she graduated from Forest Ave. High School in 1952. She worked for the Garland Independent School District as a secretary; first at Garland High School and then transferred to North Garland High School when it opened in 1971. She later moved to the administration building and worked in the student record services until her retirement in 1990. She kept active during her retirement years with her love of knitting, crocheting, plastic canvas, various arts and crafts, reading books, traveling, and volunteering at the hospital running the popcorn machine. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Lee and Minnie Catherine Doyle, her sister Margaret Stewart and brother Jim Doyle. She is survived by her sister Judy Higdon, her son William Thompson, daughter Patti Huffman and her husband Rick, son Michael Thompson and his wife Sunni. Her grandchildren Angela, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Hunter, Autumn, Brandon, Cameron, and Maleah. Six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her memorial service will be held on March 19, 2025, at Restland Funeral Home, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75243. Her celebration of life will begin at 2:00 PM with a viewing one-hour prior at 1:00 PM. Affectionately called Granny by many and Charlene by others; her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
