Joyce Marie Staples' Obituary
STAPLES, JOYCE MARIE RAMIREZ Passed away at home on September 1, 2008. Born in Metairie, LA on January 26, 1931 to George Edward Ramirez, Sr. and Evangeline Louise Guillard Ramirez. She graduated Salutatorian of her class at Holy Name of Jesus Academy in 1948, and graduated in 1979 with honors from Richland College in Dallas, TX with an Associate in Arts and Sciences Degree in Accounting. She was a founding member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dallas. Together with her husband, she founded two technology companies, Rutishauser of America and Twix Incorporated, managing the accounting and record keeping operations for both companies. As Treasurer & Vice President of Twix, she had a successful 23-year career in business until retiring in 2001. She also enjoyed traveling and painting. She was a giving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ernest Lamar Staples Jr., who was the love of her life and grade school sweetheart, and also by her brother, Roy R. Ramirez. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses David and Susan Staples, Anne Schulze, Mary Jane and Garth Touchstone, Robert Staples and Eve Law; her brother and sister-in-law, George E. and Annalee Ramirez, Jr., and her sister Sylvia R. Taylor; her grandchildren Adriane Schulze, Brittany Touchstone, Megan Touchstone, Conner Staples, and Daphne Staples.
