Joyce Young's Obituary
Born March 9, 1925, Jo Young passed away on December 28, 2011, of Parkinson’s disease. Jo’s life was filled with family and friends who cherished her wisdom and unconditional love. She taught by example what it means to live a faith-driven life of love and service. Not only was she a remarkable homemaker for her own family, she provided affordable housing for dental and seminary students for over 30 years. She walked the walk, and her faith sustained her. Jo is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clayton Young; sisters Lavern Roberts and Hazel Tucker; and parents, Reb and Rose Ayers. She is survived by daughter, Sue Miller of Dallas; granddaughter Shelley Miller and great grandchildren, Marissa, Ayana, Rico and Jacoby Jones of Plano; sister and brother-in-law Dolores and Kenneth Slayton of Mineola; and a host of nieces and nephews. Jo will be interred in Restland Abbey. At her request, there will be no service.
