Juan Joanne Li's Obituary
Ms. Juan Joanne Li, age 59, passed away peacefully with the sun rising on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Joanne was born on February 9, 1964, in Xiang Yang, Hubei China, the youngest daughter of Xun Li and Hua Chen.
Joanne was intelligent, diligent and eager to learn, well-known as a high achiever. Joanne attended Huazhong Normal University at age 16 and received Bachelor of Art and Master of Art degrees in English Literature. After she graduated, she taught English in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as the youngest lecturer in this famous university in China.
Joanne came to United States in 1992, to pursue a doctorate degree in English Literature in Drew University in New Jersey. With computer and internet technologies advancement in 1990s, Joanne showed interest in computer science, especially data science. She received a Master of Science degree in computer science from Kean University in New Jersey. She worked as a database administrator to a data architect. She had passion about her career.
Joanne loved dancing. She had devoted a lot of her time and great efforts to the art of dancing and took an important role on the stage in the holiday seasons, especially Chinese New Year. Her elegant dancing and sweet smile will be missed by all her friends.
Joanne was a devoted Christian. She loved to host bible studies in her house. She was devoted her life to her big family in China and a loving mother to her son David. She was kind-hearted, sincere, and willing to help others. She never wanted to be in the spotlight, and always chose to work behind the scenes.
She is survived by her son David, her brothers XiaoQing, XiaoGang and Xiao Qian, nieces Can and nephews Kun, Rui and Ming.
A service in celebration for the life of Juan Joanne Li will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 3rd at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75243.
