Juanda Florence Lonsford's Obituary
Juanda Florence Haskins Lonsford joined her husband, William C. Lonsford; son, William C. Lonsford, Jr.; nine siblings, Gladys, Dorothy Mae, Betty Goldie, Anna Louise, Margaret Bronwen, Jimmie Irene, Christopher Gentry Jr., Peggy Benois, Finis Arlene; and her Mother and Father, Margaret Bronwen and Christopher Gentry; in Heaven on January 9, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Lonsford; and three grandchildren, Patrick Loven, Jacquelyn Loven, and Paul Lonsford. Juanda Haskins was born in Heavener, Oklahoma, on January 27, 1922. One of ten children, Juanda grew up in Heavener and graduated Heavener High School in 1939 at 17. After attending nursing school, she married William C. Lonsford in 1942. Juanda had two children and three grandchildren. She was only 5’ tall, but she was a fearless giant in spirit – a persevering force of nature. She was impetuous, strong willed and certain of who she was. She loved to sing and bowl. She suffered from Alzheimer’s her last decade and died peacefully at the age of 92, three weeks before her 93rd birthday. The service for Juanda Lonsford will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 3:00 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
