My condolences on the recent passing of your dear family member. Many people have found comfort in scriptures from the Bible. One that comes to mind is found at Psalms 34:18; “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Where Jehovah is God’s personal name.
