Judith Ann Lindley's Obituary
Judith Ann Prince Peavy Lindley “Judy” was born November 19, 1939 to Lura Feazell Prince and John Robert Prince in Nacogdoches, TX. Her family later moved to Austin where she graduated from Austin High. She was active in her school and church choirs. After her marriage to Rodney Wayne Peavy, also from Austin, she attended the University of Houston. In Houston she worked as a bookkeeper for Humble Oil and Refining Co., before moving with Rodney to Dallas to start their family. After her husband fulfilled a 7-year contract in Tulsa, OK, they moved back to Dallas permanently.Judy worked for an insurance company in Dallas before taking a job at American Heart Association, in the Personnel Department. After her first husband of 20 years died, she married Dr. Joe W. Lindley, a well-known veterinarian in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas. They were married for 38 years, and she actively supported Lindley Veterinary Clinic through the years.Judy was active in Church of Christ congregations her entire adult life.Judy died on July 24, 2019 from complications of MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sister June Prince Brewster and brother John Robert Prince, Jr. She is survived by children John Kevin Peavy, Tracy Diane Roussey (Chris), Cheryl Lindley Calvin (Shane) and Kent Lindley, sisters Diane Prince and Linda Prince Willoughby (Gary), five grandchildren, beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and many other close family and friends.The family would like to thank the entire staff at Monticello West, the final Baylor medical team and special thanks to her caregiver and companion of 20 years Carrella “CeCe” Colllins.Any donations should be made to The National MS Society or children’s charity of your choice.Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 29, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel. Private burial will take place prior to the Memorial Service at Restland Memorial Park.
