Judy Veatrice Smith's Obituary
We celebrate the beautiful life of Judy Veatrice Smith, a creative soul born on November 14th, 1941 in Bedford, Texas. Judy's life was a vibrant tapestry of art, love, and kindness that touched everyone she met.
From an early age, Judy's passion for the arts shone brightly. She loved to garden, paint, draw, and take photographs, truly embodying the spirit of an artist through and through. Her creative talents led her to a fulfilling career as a Graphic Artist at Belo Corporation, where she brought color and imagination to all her work.
A devout Christian, Judy was an avid churchgoer who cherished her faith and community. She loved her friends and family dearly, always offering a kind word or empathetic ear. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the joy of shared moments.
Judy was the loving wife of the late Robert Earnest Smith, and together they built a family rooted in love and support. She is survived by her children Robin Solkema, Jay Smith, and Jules Smith; and her grandchildren Trevor Smith, Bailey Smith, Connor Smith, Erin Smith, Michael Dyer, and Jesse Solkema, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Judy was the last of her siblings and now reunites with her beloved parents Ida Mae Clowers and Cecil A. Clowers, as well as her brothers and sisters who preceded her in passing.
Her favorite things included the simple joys of Arts & Crafts, which she often shared with her family, creating lasting memories filled with creativity and love.
As we remember Judy, we celebrate a life filled with artistic passion, kindness, and deep empathy. Her legacy lives on in the beautiful moments she created and the lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) and The Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), causes that were close to Judy's heart.
Let us carry forward Judy's spirit by embracing creativity, showing kindness, and cherishing our loved ones.
