Judy Marie Trusty's Obituary
Judy Marie Leggett Trusty, 76, was born August 30, 1946, in Dallas, Texas to Harry William Leggett, Jr., and Marie Margarit Sims Leggett. She passed away in Carrollton, Texas, on June 1, 2023, with her family close and by her side.
Judy married Kenneth Wayne Trusty, the true love of her life, on February 19, 1970, in southern Oklahoma. She immediately inherited a family with Ken’s two older sons, Forrest and Mark, and soon after gave birth to their third son Kenneth Brian. Judy was a committed mother and life partner always navigating the family through both good and difficult times. She loved her family deeply, as well as the peaceful serenity of the Texas hill country where she and Ken called home for over 35 years. After 25 years in the field of education as a teacher and high school counselor, she retired from Austin ISD as one of the most celebrated counselors in central Texas. Shortly after her retirement she and Ken relocated to north Texas to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Leggett, Jr., and Marie Leggett; and her brothers Richard Leggett and David Leggett.
Judy is survived by her husband, Kenneth Trusty; her older brother Harry Leggett, III; her three sons, Forrest Trusty, Mark Trusty and Brian Trusty; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
