Judy C. Williams' Obituary
JUDY C. WILLIAMS April 8, 1943 – March 29, 2016 Judy was born to Bonnie Lucille and Lloyd J. Boltin in Wheeler County, Texas. She was a 1961 graduate of Amarillo High School where she participated in choir, Y-Teens, FHA, and student council. After high school she worked for the Amarillo Police Department, then traveled to Dallas to become a flight attendant for Braniff International Airways. She met her first husband in New Orleans, and they had two children, Lori and Loyd. In her later professional life, Judy held administrative positions with a number of government contractors, the Nevada Department of Education, and some private firms. She served as an officer in the local National Contract Management Association chapter and was very active in support of SkillsUSA, a career and technical student organization. She thoroughly enjoyed working with students and seeing them blossom as adults. Judy was a 20-year member of the Sports Car Club of America and frequently participated as a crew member on race cars. She also held upper-level SCCA licenses in both Flagging and Tech Inspection, and worked amateur and professional events at major tracks in California, Oklahoma, and Texas. Over the past three years she had also performed Tech duties for the Corinthian Vintage Auto Racing group. Although a native Texan, Judy’s favorite spot on the planet was Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. She insisted on visiting there regularly while living in Carson City. Judy is survived by husband Hal Williams of Garland; daughter Lori Ann Mike of West Hills, Calif.; son Loyd Hembree and wife Sheri of Camarillo, Calif.; sister Deana Hughes of Weatherford; brother Darrell Boltin and wife Kathy of Terrell; nieces Bonnie Smith, Susan Woodrum, and Shanna Kellogg; nephew Darron Boltin; and three grandchildren. There will be a service held for Judy at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ben Marshall will officiate. Dwight Calkins, Rick Cardenas, Bill Griffith, Jonesy McConnell, Jonathan Meyer, Scott Meyer, Steve Meyer, and Holly Williams will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 am prior to the service. Interment will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation, which provides free comfort housing to families of veterans receiving treatment at military and VA medical facilities.
