Julia Bell (Beard) Ball-Kuesel
October 17, 1921 - May 30, 2020
Julia Ball Kuesel, 98 years of age died peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2020. She was born in Thornton, Limestone County, Texas. She trained as a nurse at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, where she joined the Nurse Cadet Corps. She graduated just as World War II ended, preventing her from being shipped overseas. Judy worked as a Funeral Director in the Texas Valley and later became Director of Nursing first at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas and then at Baylor University Medical Center when her family moved to Dallas in 1964. She retired from Baylor in 1985 and consulted during the construction of Roberts Hospital.
She was a member of Wilshire Baptist Church and later First Presbyterian Church of Dallas.
At her 98th birthday celebration with her family she quoted John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever shall believe in him shall have eternal life” as a reminder to us all. Judy carried herself with grace and strength and her family cherished her wise words of wisdom and listening ear.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Mollie Beard, husbands Dale Ball and George Kuesel, and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Peggy Jo and husband Charles Moore, son Chester Wayne Ball and wife Margaret, step-son Ken Kuesel and wife Tonia; grandchildren Dr. Charles Newkirk Moore, Julia Moore, Richard Ball and wife Sarah, Elizabeth and husband John Amaroufi, Meredith and husband Craig Conroy, Candice and husband Alan Dodson, Mallory Kuesel, and Kendall Kuesel; great grandchildren Katherine, Helen and William Ball, Alexa and Cameron Conroy, Harper and Avery Dodson and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 3:00-5:00p.m. at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
The service will be Friday June 5, 2020 at 2:00p.m. in Wildwood Chapel, seating is limited. Service will be live-streamed at www.restlandfuneralhome.com under Julia’s obituary. Graveside service in the Chapel Garden Mausoleum will follow. http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/30732
