Julia (Fleming) Pou's Obituary
POU, JULIA (FLEMING) – Born November 20, 1918, in Tenaha, Texas. Preceded in death by parents, William Thomas Fleming and Eva McDonald Fleming of Nacogdoches, Texas; husband of 62 years, William Thomas Pou, of Dallas; brothers Roy Donald Fleming of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Thomas Jennings Fleming of Little Elm, Texas. Survived by daughters Judy Garner and husband Gil, and Anita Gregg and husband Dennis; grandchildren Greg Garner and wife Ann Marie, Brant Martin and wife Michelle, Garrett Garner and wife Leslie, Ashley Yardley and husband Mike, and Kyle Martin; great-grandchildren Thomas Martin and wife Michelle, Andrea Martin, Brighton Garner, Bryan Garner, Cailey Garner, Alyssa Garner, Olivia Garner, Dylan Yardley, John Paul Garner, Reese Garner, and Jared Yardley; great-great-grandson, Maddox Martin. Julia enjoyed her career as a dental assistant. Her hobbies included painting, tennis and aerobic exercise. Julia also enjoyed gardening and assisting her husband with their cattle on their ranch in Terrell, Texas. She and Bill enjoyed hosting a Couple’s Bible Study in their home and their membership in Church on the Rock in Rockwall, Texas. Julia ministered a Bible Study along with ladies from her church in senior citizens care centers in the Terrell area. After her move to Dallas, she became a member of Hillcrest Church and enjoyed the Mature Adults Group, a ladies Bible Study, and a Couple’s Share and Fellowship Group. It was her joy to be with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and care Julia received from Angie Smith and the caregivers at Abbey Residential Care Home. The celebration of Julia’s life will be conducted by Pastor Mark Brand of Hillcrest Church. It will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel at 3:30pm on Wednesday, February 29, with burial immediately following at Restland Memorial Park. Julia peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 25. Her daughters and their husbands, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a chance to tell her they loved her.
