With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Julie Gale Young, who was born on June 11, 1964, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Raymond Warren Young and Shari Delaine (Minton) Young. Julie departed this life on June 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of fierce independence, remarkable resilience, quick wit, and unwavering love.
Julie was preceded in death by her beloved father, Raymond Warren Young, and her brother, Ted Allen Young.
She leaves behind those who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters, Mallory Vivar and husband, Nic, and their son, Theo, and Grace LeBlanc; her mother, Shari Delaine Young; her sister, Shelly Young and fiancé, Joe Brown, along with Shelly's children, Morgan Broach and husband, Colin, and their children, Blythe and Beauman, and Luke Phipps and wife, Taylor, and their children, Auden and Ellis; and her niece, Brittany Young.
Julie graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. Exceptionally intelligent and endlessly resourceful, she possessed a brilliant mind, a razor-sharp sense of humor, and an independent spirit that carried her through life's many challenges.
Life asked more of Julie than it should have. She faced years of significant health struggles, including the gradual loss of her eyesight, with extraordinary courage. Rather than allowing hardship to define her, Julie met each new challenge with determination, adaptability, and an incredible ability to find humor in everyday moments. Even when the road before her was uncertain, she continued moving forward with a strength that inspired those who knew her.
Julie never allowed life's hardships to have the final word. Her humor, determination, and resilience always spoke louder.
Julie loved her daughters, Mallory and Grace, with all her heart. That love never diminished, and she remained deeply proud of the women they became. She was delighted to know that Mallory welcomed her son, Theo, into the world and treasured the joy of knowing he was part of her family.
Those fortunate enough to know Julie will remember a woman who was incredibly smart, fiercely independent, and wonderfully funny. She had a gift for finding laughter even in life's darkest moments, reminding those around her that strength is not the absence of struggle but the determination to keep moving forward despite it.
Though Julie's earthly journey was often marked by hardship, she leaves behind a legacy of courage, perseverance, humor, and unconditional love. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
