Ms. June Elizabeth Stout's Obituary
June Elizabeth (Chapel) Stout was born on June 1, 1927 in Dallas, TX to Thomas Roy Chapel and Rose Della (Sears) Chapel. June was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the age of 95 with family surrounding her. She graduated from North Dallas High School and attended North Texas Agricultural College. June married the boy next door “Tommy” on May 28, 1949. They were happily married for 42 years until his passing.
They raised their sons Randy, Craig, & Scott, and daughter Brenda in the Lake Highlands area in Dallas and at Northlake Baptist Church, of which they were charter members. There June served in countless ways, most notably teaching Sunday School Class for decades. The lifelong friendships formed through Northlake were a gift to our entire family. So many wonderful moments and memories were made with our church family. Her home was the site of many gatherings; the perfect place for the many wedding and baby showers she gave, and always the happiest place for holiday gatherings.
June had a special and unique relationship with each of her children, always wanting the best for them. Family was the center of most everything. She loved her large extended family and was always there when one was in need. She planned numerous family reunions and missed being able to host in her later years. She was incredibly smart, resourceful, inventive and could match wits and humor impressively! June journaled immensely & was a thoughtful poet. Many care takers at Lynridge Assisted Living shared how funny and sweet she always was to them. While passing her in the hall she would always say “Howdy” which made people smile.
June had many talents. She enjoyed and became a quite a painter. She loved animals and wildlife, gardening, rock collecting and teaching. Her flower beds were always beautiful & she loved spending her mornings outdoors caring for her yard. She loved antiquing and collecting all things blue and white. Like most depression babies she recycled and reused everything. Furniture was repaired or painted, glass baby food jars turned into organizers of all things small, but usable. Old Tang jars held sugar and candy boxes and egg containers became earring holders. She passed on her resourcefulness to her kids and grandchildren; Jami, Trent, Ryan, Steven, Adam, Kailey, Chandler and Ethan. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and taught them so much. She was blessed to have 4 great grandchildren as well, Owen & Evan Stout, and Holden & Lawson Blizzard.
Most of all June loved our Lord and Savior! She was often singing, playing the piano, and even humming hymns throughout her last days. June spent countless hours studying the bible and in devotion to His word. She was a prayer warrior like no other! We rejoice for her home going, but we will miss her always!
