June Young's Obituary
June C Young would tell you she lived a joy filled life & she spread that joy to everyone she knew or didn’t know. She was born the beloved baby child in her parents 4th decade on April 13 1920 in Bryan Texas. June suffered cardiac arrest at her residence at the Wellington on Arapaho in Richardson where she was lovingly cared for the last 2 years. A resident of Richardson since 1958, she was born & previously resided in Bryan, Texas with her family, with many extended stays in her family’s second home New Braunfels,Texas where her parents & sister maintained homes. She attended Texas Wesleyan College a music & physical education major, where she met her husband Howard N.(Brig )Young. They were married in 1941. Upon her family’s move to Richardson, she resumed her one of her two passions, teaching. She taught 6th grade at Terrace Elementary for 2 years and then Richardson Junior High School physical education, sponsoring the pep squad and cheerleading squad for many years. She returned to the classroom in her last decade of teaching & was a natural science specialist. She was also a passionate volunteer, especially for the Methodist church in both Bryan & Richardson. There she sponsored youth groups, led the Women’s Society, taught Sunday school, led the RUMC Book Club, volunteered in the church library and read to Kindergarten students. After her health restricted her from standing, she took on telephone duties from home for several Richardson Methodist Church committees. Just know she is greeting you each day with her usual “Hey Babe!, How’s the family?” Her beloved sisters Emile, & Eugenia preceeded her in death, as did her husband Howard, son Paul & daughter Kay. A private graveside service will be followed by a celebration of life in early January.
