Justin Lynn McNamee's Obituary
MCNAMEE, JUSTIN LYNN of Rowlett, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Justin was born in Dallas, Texas to Glenda and J.L. McNamee on July 31, 1958. He attended Bryan Adams High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He married Deena Kay Vick on November 4, 1989, and together they had 2 beautiful children, Sheridan and Bethany. Justin was highly respected and considered a tremendous asset by the companies and organizations in which he served. He worked as a senior schedule analyst for the Raytheon Company where he earned a reputation of integrity, dedication, and teamwork. Throughout his career, Justin’s colleagues and co-workers benefitted from his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He served many organizations as a tireless volunteer including Highland Oaks Church of Christ, Garland Leadership Association, Neighborhood Revitalization for the City of Rowlett Bond Committee, Ride 2 Recovery, Medal of Honor Society, Congressman Pete Sessions, Governor Rick Perry. Justin was appointed to the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists by Governor Rick Perry in recognition of his community service. “Justin the Genius” was a nickname jokingly given by friends and colleagues for his uncanny ability to fix anything. Whether cars, motorcycles, computers, or building sets for children’s theatre, there was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. He generously used his skills, abilities, and talents to assist and improve the lives of others. Justin enjoyed the outdoors especially camping with his daughters and friends on their annual camping weekend in East Texas. He enjoyed fishing, running, cycling, NASCAR, and finding a “really good deal” not just for himself but for friends and family. He lived a life committed to family, church, and community. He leaves a legacy of integrity, humility and a heart of service to others. He will be lovingly remembered by friends and family as a “good man”…a man who forever changed the hearts and lives of those he touched. “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 Justin is survived by his wife, Deena Kay McNamee; daughters, Sheridan Lynn McNamee and Bethany Paige NcNamee; father, J. L. McNamee; stepmother, Lillie McNamee; sister, Kim Moore and husband Rodney; stepsister, Cindy Peyronet; and parents in law, Janice and Larry Vick. Justin was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Hagler McNamee. Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas on Monday, April 21, 2014 with Pat Bills officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetary in the Garden of Gethsemane. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Justin Lynn McNamee Scholarship Fund benefitting the children and youth ministries at Highland Oaks Church of Christ.
