Justin Barrett Rogers' Obituary
Justin Barrett Rogers, 47, beloved son of Barbara and Jim Edwards, passed away at Methodist Hospital, Richardson on December 17, 2018 Justin was born October 5, 1971, in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Duncanville High School in 1992 and then completed a two year transitional living program at Richland College. Justin spent many summers attending camps for the physically challenged including Lions Camp, Kerrville, Tex, Camp Summit, Argyle, Tex, Camp for All, Brennan, Tex and Mountain High Camp, Red River, New Mexico. Before experiencing more serious health issues, he participated in a ten day canoe trip through Yellowstone National Park sponsored by Outward Bound Program! (Mom and Dad were hesitant to send him solo on the flight to Jackson Hole, Wy,). He also traveled to Hawaii, fulfilling his lifelong dream, he embarked on several Caribbean cruises, as well as taking a memorable train journey from Dallas to Seattle, all accompanied by his parents as the Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA, made such travel possible. Justin is survived by his parents, Barbara and Jim Edwards of Dallas, aunts and uncles, Dorothy and Michael Getsey, Burke, Virginia, Nancy and Clyde Monnette, Plano, Tex, Edward Laudien, Plano, Tex and Kris and Jep Possee, Bedford, New Hampshire, and many cousins. Justin and his infectious laughter, gentle, kind spirit, will forever be remembered and always bring a smile to those who knew and loved him.Visitation for Mr. Justin Barrett Rogers will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.
