In Loving Memory of Karen Coleman
June 9, 2026
Today we remember and honor the beautiful life of my beloved friend, Karen Coleman. Karen was a woman whose kindness could be felt the moment you walked into her presence. She had a joyful spirit, a welcoming heart, and a way of making people feel loved, comfortable, and truly at home.
One memory I will always carry in my heart is the day we went to her home. Karen welcomed us with so much joy and warmth. She opened her home and her heart to us, inviting us to share a beautiful steak dinner together. There was laughter, conversation, and that sweet feeling of friendship around the table. After we finished eating, we took pictures, capturing a moment that I now treasure even more deeply.
Karen was so proud of the life around her home. She invited me to go outside and see her cattle and her backyard. I remember being a little concerned about going to see her longhorns, but in Karen’s gentle and reassuring way, she said, “It’s not a problem. I’ll go with you, and it will be okay.” That was Karen. She had a way of bringing peace, comfort, and courage to the people around her. She did not make you feel silly for being afraid. She simply stood beside you and made you feel safe.
I also remember how she shared with such sweetness about one of her dreams: to have a pool someday with her husband, whom she loved tremendously. The way she spoke about him showed the depth of her love, devotion, and joy in the life they were building together. It was a simple dream, but it revealed so much about Karen’s heart — her love for home, family, togetherness, and the beautiful memories she hoped to continue making.
That memory reflects so much of who Karen was. She was joyful, kind, welcoming, brave, and full of love. She made ordinary moments feel special. She made a dinner feel like a celebration. She made a visit feel like family. And she made friendship feel like a gift from God.
Karen’s passing on June 9, 2026, leaves a deep sadness in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will continue to live on through the love she gave, the kindness she shared, and the beautiful moments she created with the people blessed to know her.
I thank God for the gift of her friendship. I will always remember her smile, her warmth, her hospitality, her love for her husband, and the way she made me feel cared for. Karen’s life was a blessing, and her memory will forever remain a treasure in my heart.
Rest in peace, my beloved friend Karen. You were deeply loved, and you will be dearly missed.
