Karen Matetich's Obituary
Karen Newman Matetich, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the age of 77.
Karen was born on August 12, 1946, to Elmer and Greta Newman in Garland, Texas. She attended Garland High School, graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a degree in Education, and continued to receive her Master's in Education from Texas A&M Commerce.
Karen went on to teach Special Education for many years until leaving to work alongside her husband at their family dealership, Jupiter Chevrolet. Karen was a pillar of the community, volunteering for such programs as Joni and Friends, Bible Study Fellowship, Write Way Prison Ministries and several children's programs at Stonebriar Community Church.
Karen also took several mission trips to Africa and South America, working with the Rafiki Foundation and Mercy Ships.
Karen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mike. She is also survived by her two children, Michael Matetich Jr. (Traci) and Ashley Bradford (Billy). Her four grandchildren also survive her: Tripp and Eliza Matetich and Avery and Abby Bradford.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, September 17, at Memorial Chapel Restland Funeral Home.
