Karen Mae Nourallah's Obituary
Karen Severs Nourallah was born on May 10, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan.From a young age, Karen developed a deep love for art and music. She attended Cottey College, Wayne State University and the University of Illinois, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree. Throughout her life, Karen played piano and created art, often using the rolling hills of rural Arkansas, where her parents retired, as inspiration for her paintings.Karen met her husband, Fayez, at the University of Illinois. They were married for 54 years and settled in El Paso, Texas, where they raised four children. Karen was a member of PEO, a women’s educational philanthropic group, for 50+ years. She loved opera and classical music, cooking for her family and doing art projects with her grandchildren.Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Robert Severs and her brothers, Richard and Glen Severs. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Fayez Nourallah; her children, Salim Nourallah, Faris Nourallah, Miriam Osborne and her husband, Kenny Osborne, and Ameer Nourallah; and grandchildren Griffin, Gavin, Hudson and Miette, all of whom reside in Dallas.Visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 from 4 to 6:30 p.m., at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75243.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Karen’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
