Karl Dixon Brill's Obituary
Brill, Karl Dixon, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 17, 2010. He was born December 28, 1929 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Karl was a past master mason as well as a shriner and served as a long standing member and Deacon of The Heights Baptist Church. Karl had a successful forty year career in the oil business, beginning with Placid Oil Company, owned by the Hunt family. He also performed private consulting work for several petroleum companies following his retirement from Placid Oil. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines in WWII. Karl was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Jean Brill. Karl is survived by his wife, Anna Smiley Brill. Karl and Dorothy’s surviving family are: son Mike Brill and wife Lyn, daughter Martha and Ray Coffman, and son Mark Dixon Brill. Grandchildren: Jeremy Brill and wife Cecelia, Eric Brill and Maura Lynn Brill. Great-grandchildren: Diego and Cecilou Brill. He is also survived by his loving sister Martha Causey, many special nieces and nephews, and Anna’s children Adam, Diane, and Delia. Karl touched the lives of many and we are fortunate to have had him. Loved by many, he will be missed by all. Visitation will be held Sunday November 21, from 6 to 8PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 22 at 3PM in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
