Katherine Tena Charba's Obituary
Katherine Tena Charba also known as Tena or Mimi, 98, entered eternal rest on January 26, 2020 at Legend Healthcare in Paris Texas.
Born February 24, 1921, she was the only child to parents Joseph and Louise Miano. She married on February 25, 1940 to Edward Charba and they were together for 64 years having two children, Eddie and Joe.
Preceding Tena was her husband Edward, son Eddie and her parents. Survivors son, Joe and wife Carolyn; two grandchildren, Howard and wife Melissa, Laurinda and husband Troy, four great-grandchildren Cortney Lynn, Cari and husband David, Micaela and husband Scott, and Savonnah; one great great-grandchild Canaan.
Tena was a homemaker all her life but helped Ed at the electric motor shop doing office work. Ed and Tena enjoyed taking trips together, in her early years spent time in church activities playing piano, mom was self-taught, also played a mandolin which a neighbor hand made for her in 1940. The later years made weekly trips to be with her friends at Highland Park Cafeteria, and of course had to have her hair done weekly. In lieu of flowers a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel. Burial will take place after the funeral in the Garden of Psalms at Restland Cemetery.
