Katherine Middleton Glass' Obituary
GLASS, KATHERINE (KAY) MIDDLETON a long-time Dallas school teacher, died on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the age of 94. She was born on July 21, 1913, in Waxahachie, Texas, the daughter of Robert S. and Melissa B. (Lillie) Middleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. (Mac) Glass. She is survived by two brothers, Robert H. Middleton and Stewart C. Middleton, both of Dallas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Kay grew up in Waxahachie and graduated from Trinity University; she also received a master’s degree in English from the University of Chicago. She spent her first six years as a teacher in the public schools of Oklahoma and Texas. For the last 30 years of her career she taught second grade at Mt. Auburn School in Dallas, retiring in 1973. Her specialty was teaching students to read with enjoyment. Kay was a member of Northpark Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Presbyterian Village North in Dallas for the wonderful care they gave. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 21st at Northpark Presbyterian Church, 9555 North Central Expressway, in Dallas, at 11:00 a.m., following a private burial service. Visitation with the family will occur after the service.
