Katherine Gail Gillespie Heinen was born in the coal mining area of southwest Virginia on January 24, 1937. She passed away on September 5, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer. Thanks to the dedication of their parents, Gail a Read Obituary
Gail was part of our Sunday School class at The Grove. She always had deep comments to add to the lesson. When she became too ill to come, she would follow the sermons on-line and was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. We are grateful that she is home and not suffering any longer. She will be missed in our hearts and we pray her family, particularly Kerry, finds comfort and peace that she is at rest.
Please know how sad we are to hear of Gail's passing. She will be missed by friends at Lincoln Memorial University. Blessings to Richard, our LMU trustee, and all of the family.

Gail was one of my oldest and dearest friends. We met in 1978 when I was a newly minted engineer at TI and my first time living a long way from home. She took me under her wing and made me welcome at her home for many pool parties, dinners, and Christmas cookie bakes. Years later when I got divorced we reconnected and did many trips together, camping, rafting, hawaii, pnw. I loved that woman!
I was lucky to have met Gail a few short years ago when we both signed up for the same bible class. Your story is beautiful, and the words you chose to describe her - kind and strong are so fitting. I will miss her dearly. Cathy Qualls
