Katherine Simpson Hines' Obituary
Hines, Katherine Simpson passed away peacefully on January 31, 2014 at the age of 84. She was born in Dallas on January 5, 1930 to John B. Simpson and Dorothea Brown Simpson Moore. Katherine graduated from North Dallas High School in January 1947 and attended Southern Methodist University where she met and married Hugo Hines on Friday, October 13, 1950 at Tyler Street United Methodist Church. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver to those around her who managed a career with and retired from the Dallas Market Center, Dallas Convention Center and Visitors Bureau. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugo Hines; daughter, Sharon Hines Johnson; grandson, Casey Hamilton along with her mother and step father, Dorothea S. Moore and Leroy W. Moore. Katherine is survived by her children and their spouses, Kathy Hamilton Hall and Marcus Hall; Jan Hines West and Mike West; James W. Johnson, William Hines and Karen Standefer Hines; grandchildren, Kyle Hamilton and wife, Marybeth, Stephanie West, Kevin West, Jennifer Johnson, Lee Johnson, Collin Johnson, Benjamin Hines, Andrew Hines, Brian Hines and Nicholas Hines. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 2:30 PM on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
