Louise Kirby, 88, of Garland, TX passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Services will be 12:30PM Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Restland Wildwood Chapel. A visitation will be held 6-8PM Friday, December 15, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home.Katherine Louise Kirby was born to Mertus Cumbie and Pauline Cumbie Shirley on June 1, 1929 in Hawkins, TX. She married Fred Kirby on July 27, 1946 in Rockwall, TX. She worked as a Student Services Counselor for 30 years at Amberton University in Garland, TX. Louise was also a member of the Rebekah’s of The IOOF. She will be missed by all who knew her.She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kirby; son, Bobby Kirby; parents, Mertus Cumbie and Pauline Shirley; and sister, LaVerne Paull.Louise is survived by her daughter Shelley Walley and husband, Oliver; grandchildren, Bobby Abernathy and wife, Courtney, Amy Abernathy, Scott Walley; great grandchildren, Madie and Charlotte Abernathy; sister, Wanda Helms Butler; and serveral nieces and nephews.
