MeeMaw was a great nice lady. I loved her so much! And she was always so nice. I hated that she got so sick before she died. I know she is in a better place now. I love you!

Aunt Katherine was a kind and gracious lady. I always enjoyed visiting with her at family reunions. I'm sorry I didn't see more of her when I was a little boy. David Blackstock
Dear Jeannie Faye, I'm sorry not to have been able to see Katherine or attend her funeral; & my sympathy goes to you & your family, as I'll be thinking about you & her a lot, especially the next several days. I was fortunate in getting to know the youngest Blackstock aunts & uncles, & Truman, in the 30's, when I was' there in the summers.' Katherine was forced to discipline me one time' because I was persisting in jumping from the piano top onto the bed.' I was highly offended, since I didn't consider she had the "seniority"' for that. I' recall a visit with her in the 30's, in Dallas, before she & Larry married, & remember having' walked with her one evening, when we passed by a home for "wayward" girls, & to my puzzlement she was reluctant to explain that term.' (I did eventually learn the definition). Jeannie Faye, extend my condolence to everyone in the family, & my regret at not being able to be present.' Love, Mathis'
