Katherine Wise's Obituary
WISE, KATHERINE (DORAN) passed peacefully on June 19, 2011, surrounded by the love of her family. Katherine was born Emma Katherine Doran on August 7, 1920 in Dallas to Ugo and Annie Doran. She was the youngest of five children, and she always told wonderful stories about her childhood. Her brothers and sisters were Stanley, Helen, Frank, and Margaret. She spent all but a few years of her life in Dallas. On July 16, 1942, Katherine married John Brenton Wise, Jr. She and Brent spent a few years during WWII traveling to Michigan, Louisiana, and Florida. After the war, they returned to Dallas where they built a wonderful life together. In 1947, they welcomed their first son, John, and in 1949 their second son, Bill, joined the family. Katherine and Brent worked hard together to provide a secure life for their sons. Katherine worked as an office worker in a doctor’s office and at a linen supply store. Her most important job, though, was as a mother to her beloved sons. Katherine is survived by her children, Bill, John, and Becky; her grandchildren Jimmy, Bobby, and Charlie Wise; and her three great-grandchildren, Mikee, Aysha, and Brenton.
