Kathi Elaine Lind's Obituary
“Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.” - Proverbs 17:6 NLT.
Kathi Elaine Lind, 64, of Coppell, Texas, went to be with the lord on December 15th, 2023. Kathi was born in Dallas, Texas in August of 1959 to Marjorie and Morris Thompson and was the youngest of 3 children. Kathi graduated from Carter High School in Dallas before attending the University of Texas in Austin (Hook ‘Em!). Kathi went on to work at IBM for over 40 years. Kathi married the love of her life, David Edson Lind on September 12, 1987. Kathi and David had 3 children of their own, Joshua, Jeremy, and Lauren.
Those that knew Kathi will always remember the love she had for her family, friends and the University of Texas Longhorns, her sense of humor, and her willingness to give so much of her time and resources to those around her. Kathi made sure that her house was always a home to anyone, including those on 4 legs. None who entered Kathi and David’s home ever left with an empty stomach or an empty heart. Kathi was blessed with 2 grandchildren before she passed, Olivia and Conner. She lived for every moment she had on this earth with them. Kathi was an amazing spouse, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to meet her.
Kathi was preceded in death by her parents Marjorie and Morris Thompson; her brother Kenny Thompson; brother-in-law Carl Harris; and nephew Paul Wolfe. Kathi is survived by her spouse, David Lind; her son Joshua Lind and his spouse Arika; her son Jeremy Lind, his spouse Maddie and daughter Olivia; her daughter Lauren Tanner, her spouse Ethan and son Conner; her sister Carole Harris; her niece, Melinda Wolfe and her children Jake and Kendall; her niece-in-law Lee Wolfe and her son Chandler; and her nephews Luke and Zach Thompson.
A viewing service will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Wednesday, 12/27/23 from 5:00-8:00 pm. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Trinity Fellowship Church in Richardson on Thursday, 12/28/23 at 12:00pm. All are welcome to both services.
Kathi loved to feed both friends and family, and additionally had a deep love of her German Shepherd dogs; therefore, donations in her name to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB.org) or the German Shepherd Rescue of Texas (GSRTX.org) would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
