My Sister Kathy

She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. Yet very stylish in her appearance and taking care of her looks wearing the latest in trends.
She was beautiful in the way she thought…always intelligent and positive. Never the complainer.
She was beautiful for her zest for life, tenacity, and her courageous fight against the hardships in her life, and her battle to live despite unbelievable tragic setbacks.
She was beautiful for the sparkle in her pretty eyes when she talked enthusiastically about something or someone she loved.
She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile, even when she was sad.
She was beautiful on knowing how to live fully and embrace all that life had to offer.
No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks.
She was beautiful deep in her soul and her need to help her loved ones to strive for their best.
We will miss her tremendously, but I know that she’s just my beautiful angel sister who moved to heaven and waiting for the rest of us.

I met Kathy during our senior year at Bryan Adams. She was a very good friend to me and I remember how her "large" family impacted me. I would come home and tell my mother about all the kids over there and how everybody helped do chores...there were only 2 of us at my house. Many years went by and I was blessed to rekindle our friendship a few years ago. We had many fun conversations of our past and many happy days. I will miss her daily calls and her loving ways. Nancy

It is hard to lose a friend of over 40 years. Kathy and I were both members of the Association of Women Executives in Dallas which began in the early 80's when such groups were rare. Kathy was ALWAYS a pioneer, and broke a lot of glass ceilings for women, always doing it with style and flair! She was truly one of a kind, living life to its fullest all the way. Happy trails on your new adventures in a new world now, Kathy.
