Ms. Kathleen Ann Patzke's Obituary
Kathleen Ann Patzke, 73, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Carrollton, Texas.
Kathy of Plano, Texas was born January 28, 1950 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Joseph B. Patzke and Lorraine (Brings) Patzke. A graduate of Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas in 1968, Kathy went on to spend a couple years in Okinawa Japan chasing love before returning to the Dallas area which she called home for most of her life.
At 22, she began working for the Drug Enforcement Agency. This was the start of more than 35 years of combined government service among agencies including the Food and Drug Administration, Customs, and the Department of Commerce. She was selected as the first annual Outstanding Administrative Assistant for the Office of Export Enforcement in 2014 prior to her retirement at the end of 2016.
In 1984 she gave birth to her only child, Michael Peelman. Kathy’s friends and family can attest there was nothing she was more proud of than her son. She spent the rest of her life loving him dearly. Her involvement in PTA at Michael’s schools and encouraging his interests and passions built everlasting friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lorraine Patzke; her brother James Patzke; and her sister Carol Patzke Bufkin. She is survived by her son Michael Peelman; her sister Susan Patzke Johnson; and an array of friends, extended family, and former co-workers.
