Good Evening Mom, Well it has been a month now, and I still miss you so. Am still receiving some sympathy cards, and each one both soothes me and makes me cry. I really try hard to be strong, but you know me. I love you mom, did hear from Barb and Dorothy. They are fine and like the brochure i sent to them. Am working some, so i will go to bed now. Sleep well my beautiful Mom, more later. Renae is fine.

Mom, what are you doing in Heaven? Are the angels beautiful? MOm, this is the first MOnday I have not been able to do something for you, my heart breaks, not for you mom, but for me. Joe and I miss you so much as i am sure the others do also, but Momma, i just want to hold you one more time, tell you i love you one more time. While I was speaking at the graveside service so many memories came flooding back to me. Memories from West Virginia and younger days as well as memories in Texas and growing up. We had such a good time celebrating your going home. There was such a "family union" feeling, and you were the peron who made us a real family – you and God. Thanks for loving us, teaching us, and letting us go as we grew up. We are blessed in so many ways.I still have a "West Virginia" heart, by the way. The look in your eyes and the smile on your face when you said that final "I love you, son", will always be with me. See you at the Reunion. Joe
Mom, well it will soon be 3 months and i so long to talk to you. Things have happened, I have a new job tomorrow and am excited, right here in Carrollton. I need to share with you all the ins and outs, i think you would be happy for me. Little Gene has his cancer surgery tomorrow in the abdomen, i told him i would be there. he was appreciative as usual. Andrea is ok, her cancer is benign. you need to talk to big Gene, he wants to get out, but he just can't be trusted to take care of himself. it upsets little gene, but he knows to stand firm. shelly and jeff still in the same shape, but shell keeps trying. nae back in hospital, not doing so good, but you know all of this. joe, fred, and sally doing fine. my joe needs his cup of coffee with nannie in the mornings. he misses you too. Well, I still miss you Mom. I know you are with me in spirit,but i miss your touch, your beautiful face, and your sense of humor. I Love you. Baby Girl.
Nannie, The first thing you probably know is that we all love you so much. I know that you are in heaven looking down and watching over each and everyone of us. You are deaply missed and loved and not a day will go bye where we are not thinking of you. We know that heaven is a better place and that we all someday will be together again. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say… but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay. I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above. Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love. Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you." It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on. I need you here badly; you're part of my plan. There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man." God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do. And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you. And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight. God and I are closest to you….in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears. But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain. Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain. I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned. But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er. I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before. There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; but together we can do it by taking one day at a time. It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too… that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you. If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain, then you can say to God at night……"My day was not in vain." And now I am contented….that my life has been worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile. So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low, just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go. When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
