Kathleen Helen Stehle's Obituary
Kathleen Helen Stehle a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on February 16, 2015. She was born in Versailles, Indiana, on February 13, 1919. Kay was the second child born to Frank Marion Thompson and Helen Hunter Thompson. Kay was happily married for 46 years to George Frederick Stehle, who preceded her in death in 1988. Kay and George met in Cincinnati, Ohio. George’s career took them to New Orleans, George’s home town, where they lived until they moved to Dallas in 1955. She was an active member of Walnut Hill Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and being with family and friends. She also loved to garden and take daily walks. She was a loving person and a joy to all. Her daughters and their families were her utmost priority; she will be missed greatly by all of them. Kay is survived her daughter, Janet Elizabeth Gano and husband, Steve; daughter, Leanne Helen Kirkham and husband, Chad; grandsons, Erik George Gano and wife, Lily and daughter, Elizabeth, Zachary Stephen Gano, and Neil Hunter Gano and wife, Lindsey. Kay is survived by sister, Jane Wilson, and preceded in death by brother, Ralph Thompson and sister, Lila Finke. The funeral service for Kathleen will be held at Restland in The Wildwood Chapel at 12:30 PM on Friday, February 20, 2015. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
