Kathryn Lieb Birbari's Obituary
Kathryn Lieb Birbari, 98, of Dallas, Texas, joyfully and peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior at 3:45 p.m., November 6, 2014. Kathryn was born on April 17, 1916, in Tyler, Texas, to George and Edna Callie McMillan. She was blessed with a godly heritage, and by her life, transformed it into an even more far-reaching legacy. She met James S. Lieb, who was to be the love of her life, at Baylor University. They were married at her home in Tyler on September 5, 1937. She and her husband James moved to Dallas where they were active members of First Baptist Church. She was also a leading and integral part of several community organizations. Her chief delight was her membership in the Bethany Moms with whom she met monthly for over sixty years. Kathryn was a woman of genuine hospitality who opened her home as easily as she opened her heart. Truly, to know her was to love her, whether one was a passing acquaintance or a friend of many years. She was a faithful friend and a constant encourager. The breadth and depth of her influence and the lives she quietly touched by her thoughtfulness and love are incalculable. Above any honor that could be bestowed on her, Kathryn cherished her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She invested her life in her family, and they were her joy and delight. Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Kathy Sibley and husband, Jim; two granddaughters, Betsy Durand and Laura Denning; their husbands; six great grandchildren; niece, Lynda Radisi; and a host of friends. A celebration of Kathryn’s life and legacy will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. The committal service will follow.
