Kathryn Ann Brady's Obituary
On November 8, 2020, Kathryn Ann Brady went to sit at the feet of Jesus to hear a firsthand account of all the Bible stories she loved and taught throughout her life. “Kay” was born April 11, 1925 to Walter and Pauline Barngrover and grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with her best friend, and
sister, Margaret.
Before you read more about her history, what she would want you to know is that she gave her life to Jesus at a very young age and death has never been looked at as a loss but rather a reward. More than anything else, she would want you to come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, that
He died and rose again just for you. After her salvation, everything she did was intertwined with the truths of God’s Word.
Kay received a degree in art from the University of Iowa. After teaching for a short while,
she took a dream job as an American Airline stewardess. While based in Dallas, she met and married the love of her life, Jack Brady, a young attorney, they had three “adorable” children. Although Kay
treasured her role as a doting mother and adoring wife, she dearly loved to teach God’s Word. No bigger compliment could be given to us than when someone said “your mother lead me to the Lord.”
If you spent more than three minutes with Kay, you were either given something, told the Gospel or prayed over. She was an amazing prayer warrior. That’s one of the things we’ll miss the most. If you knew her, she prayed for you.
Though Jack and her daughter, Julia, preceded Kay to Heaven, she left behind a great legacy of students of God’s Word. Beginning with her son, Doug and his wife, Julie, her daughter, Susan and her husband, David; her grandchildren, Barrett, Brooks and his wife, Megan, Matt and his wife, Randi, Mandy and her husband, Nathan; her great grandchildren, Aubrey, McKinley, Mercy, M.J. and Caleb, and soon to come Adelyn, as well as many of you who sat under her teaching. “All who
will rise up and call her blessed.” Prov. 31:28
There will be a grave side at Restland Memorial on Monday, November 16, 2020, at 2:00
