Kathy Snyder's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy Staley Cree Snyder on January 31, 2025, at the age of 76.
She was in the Class of '67 at Dallas Hillcrest H.S. and graduated from Texas Tech. She lived in Dallas until retiring to Rockport, Texas.
Kathy is survived by her son Clark Cree, her grandchildren Cole, Caden and Campbell, her three brothers Saunders Skeen Staley III, John A. Staley and Tommy Staley, and her closest friends Lynn Lyons Powers and Diane Dewald Shackelford.
She is preceded in death by her parents, S. Skeen Staley, Jr. and Judy Clark Staley.
After earning her master's degree at Texas Tech, Kathy began her career dedicated to childhood education where her knowledge of Spanish and her determination made such a difference in children's lives. Her career spanned teaching, truancy home visits and culminated with being the principal at Macon Elementary School where she helped the school achieve exemplary status. Kathy was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rockport and will be missed by all.
