Kay Ellen Edwards' Obituary
Kay Ellen (Ball) Edwards peacefully went home to Jesus on April 20, 2021, at the age of 82. She was born May 4, 1938 in Dallas, Texas, to Adrienne and Sybil Ball. In June of 1956, at 18 years of age, she married her sweetheart who she met at church, Herman Cheston Edwards.
Kay is survived by her husband of 64 years, Herman Cheston Edwards; her sister, Linda Ball; her children and their spouses, Lynn and Sherrie Edwards, Wendy and Jerry Laymance, Jeff and Denise Edwards, Jason Edwards and Kerrie Deweerd and Kristopher and Marjorie Edwards. She was preceded in death by her son, David Edwards.
Kay lived a life centered around her love of Christ, His Church and her family. For many years, she served her church as the pianist at Mt. Auburn Assembly of God, later, Hillview Terrace Assembly of God. Kay was blessed with the gift of beautifully playing the piano with or without music.
A faithful wife and loving mother of six children, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, Kay lived to love, embrace, celebrate and enjoy her little ones. Her grandchildren brought such joy to her heart.
In her later years, Kay enjoyed outings with her husband, attending Women of Joy conferences with her daughter, Wendy, playing word games and watching Christian Television.
She will be greatly missed by many but knowing her faith in Christ and His promise of eternal life with Him in Heaven, we know this separation is only temporary and we will see her again in that beautiful and glorious place.
