Scott, Kayla's Obituary
Kayla Deann Scott, 41, of Dallas, TX, passed away on November 5, 2024. She was born on December 15, 1982, in Dallas, TX, to her mother, Carla Yvette Scott, and her grandmother, Anna B. Scott.
Kayla was a lover of life’s simple joys, always seeking out new experiences and connections. Whether she was competing in a spirited game of bingo, enjoying a night at the movies, or indulging in the flavors of her favorite restaurants, Kayla’s zest for life was infectious. Her adventurous spirit led her to discover a newfound love for travel, often accompanied by her two loyal dogs, Bentley and Jasper. Together, they embarked on countless road trips and spent many joyful hours at the dog park.
A voracious reader with a particular fondness for thrillers and suspense novels, Kayla was a storyteller at heart, captivated by gripping tales and the world of imagination. Her sense of humor was one of her most beloved traits—she delighted in pranks, jokes, and anything that could bring a smile to those around her. Kayla was also fiercely competitive, whether in a lighthearted game of tic-tac-toe or an all-out dance-off, and her passion for fun was always evident.
A self-proclaimed sneakerhead, Kayla was known for her impeccable style and love of fashion. But beyond her fun-loving, adventurous nature, Kayla’s true heart was shown in her role as a loving aunt. She had a special bond with her nieces, nephews, and even the pets of her friends, always showering them with love and care.
Kayla was preceded in death by her mother, Carla Yvette Scott, and her best friend, Brandon Gowdy.
She is survived by her grandmother, Anna B. Scott; her sister, Akhila L. Scott; her brother, Chadd W. Scott; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, treasured friends, coworkers, and her beloved pets, Jasper and Bentley.
Kayla’s presence in the lives of those who loved her will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the memories she leaves behind will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who knew her.
